This week began the next big project in my Animation course. For this project, we are to demonstrate the 12 basic principles of animation as described by Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas (both Disney animators). Among these concepts are squash and stretch, staging, timing, and much more. This week we were tasked with creating storyboards for our short film, which is due in a few weeks. The premise revolves around creating a story with a simple bouncing ball.
My story poses the spheres as birds attempting to take flight (to varying degrees of success). Overall, I am pleased with my concept. Whether I can execute on my plans is to be determined. We will just have to wait and see.
